Career Specialties

David Reamer specializes in rhetoric, composition and technical communication. He has worked in an editorial capacity for various academic journals during his career, includingÌýStudies in the Fantastic,ÌýRhetoric ReviewÌý²¹²Ô»åÌýFYHC: First-Year Honors Composition. He teaches courses in composition, editing and technical communication that emphasize academic research, civic engagement and experiential learning. His scholarly work has been published inÌýComposition Studies,ÌýProgrammatic Perspectives, Rhetoric Review,ÌýTechnical Communication QuarterlyÌýand the edited collectionÌýStories of Mentoring.

Professional and Community Activities

Reamer is on the peer review boards of the journalsÌýRhetoric Review,ÌýStudies in the FantasticÌý²¹²Ô»åÌýXchanges. He is an active member of the Conference on College Composition and Communication, the Association of Teachers of Technical Writing and the Rocky Mountain Modern Language Association, presenting regularly at these organizations' annual conferences. Reamer also works with area nonprofits on service-learning projects for his students and participates in Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê’s biannual Into the Streets volunteering events. Reamer serves as chair of the Department of English and Writing and co-coordinates the Professional and Technical Writing minor.
