Career Specialties

As a food marketing expert, Mark Lang's areas of interest for research, teaching and other work focus on food products marketing and retailing.

Specific topics include consumer and market research, brand and marketing strategy, consumer behavior, retailing, merchandising and private label and innovation and product development.

Professional and Community Activities

For over 20 years prior to academia, Lang worked in food and retailing in senior management in marketing and research. For 11 years, he was corporate director of marketing and research at Publix Supermarkets. Lang is currently president of the Institute of Food Products Marketing, editor-in-chief of the Journal of International Food and Agribusiness MarketingÌýand chair of the Annual International Food Marketing Research Symposium.
