Career Specialties

Juliet Davis is an intermedia artist, writer and researcher teaching theory and practice in interactive media, visual culture and media writing, with particular interest in cyberfeminism (and more generally, sociopolitical issues of gender, desire and media).

Professional and Community Activities

Davis' article titled "Fractured Cybertales: Navigating the Feminine" recently appeared inÌýLeonardo: Journal of the International Society for the Arts, Sciences, and TechnologyÌý(MIT Press), and her past scholarship has appeared in other peer-reviewed publications such as theÌýJournal of Film and VideoÌý(University of Illinois Press),ÌýMedia-NÌý(Journal of the New Media Caucus, College Art Association), andÌýIntelligent AgentÌý(Director: Christiane Paul, New Media Curator of the Whitney Museum of American Art).Ìý

Prominent museums and festivals have exhibited Davis' artwork internationally, including SIGGRAPH, ISEA, FILE, Institute of Contemporary Art (London), MAXXI Museum (Rome), and the International Museum of Women (USA), as well as local and national venues such as the Tampa Museum of Art andÌýIowa Review Web.Ìý

Neal Benezra, director of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, has honored her work for its "freshness and originality" by awarding it honorable mention among 2,796 entries from 40 countries in the "Art of the Digital Show." Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê students have been involved in this and other art productions.Ìý

Davis also has a professional background in consulting, production, writing and creative direction in interactive media, strategic communication and design.
