Career Specialties

Zefeng Bai is interested in applied statistics and analytics in general. His current research focuses on long-term investment strategy, predictive analytics and causal inference. Zefeng enjoys teaching statistics and analytics courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Professional and Community Activities

Bai is an assistant professor of business analytics in the Information and Technology Management Department. Before joining ϲ, Bai taught different statistics and analytics courses at Babson College and Bentley University. He enjoys studying and exploring new teaching techniques that could help facilitate student-and-instructor interactions in a diverse learning environment.

Bai's research interest lies primarily in business analytics and causal inferences using microeconometrics techniques. Specifically, motivated by the increasing aging populations worldwide, his dissertation examines using the target volatility investment concept to improve existing pension plans. Bai is also broadly interested in using statistical and mathematical models to explain business and social phenomena. His research has found applications in asset management, behavioral finance, religion study and public health.
