Career Specialties

Angela Angeleska specializes in applied discrete mathematics. Her work applies graph theory, knot theory and formal languages in natural computing and modeling bio-molecular processes. In recent years she has studied the clustering problem in networks and its applications to bio-chemical networks and even social networks.

Professional and Community Activities

Angeleska has worked as a visiting research collaborator at Princeton University, the University of Potsdam-Germany, the Max Planck Institute in Golm, Germany, and the Norwegian School of Business -BI in Oslo. She is a published author in journals such as Discrete Applied Mathematics, Bioinformatics, Theoretical Computer Science, Journal of Theoretical Biology and books from the Natural Computation Series. Some of her recent publications are:

Angeleska’s research has been presented at many professional meetings/conferences at national and international levels (in the USA, Italy, Germany, Macedonia, Norway). She directed multiple undergraduate research projects, presented at local and regional conferences by Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê students. She is a member of the American Mathematical Society-AMS and Association for Women in Mathematics- AWM, and served as a vice president for site selection at the Mathematical Association of America, MAA Florida Chapter. Angeleska had been the Math Club advisor and internship coordinator at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê for a decade and served as an organizer and chair for the Lecture Series in Mathematics.
